The funding for this position is time-limited and is not expected to extend beyond the 2028-2029 school year. Prior to termination of the grant funding, the employee will be notified of the elimination of the position and may apply and compete for available posted positions.
Overall Purpose
To provide individual, group, and family therapy to leverage prevention, intervention, and resilience activities to ensure school-aged youth have access to appropriate and effective behavioral health services.
Essential Functions
- Provides individual, group, and family mental health support services through the district-LEA.
- Assessment and service plan development.
- Identifies needs and coordinates training activities for school staff and families.
- Communicates and works closely with the AWARE district-LEA Project Manager providing updates and data on a regular basis.
- Attends all required out-of-state workshops/conference and grantee meetings as required by the funding agency.
- Assists AWARE district-LEA Project Manager, NEGA RESA Project Director/Coordinator with site visits and monitoring activities.
- Collaborates with AWARE district-LEA Project Manager, district-LEA Department of Student Services, and local mental health providers to develop referral processes and procedures for students requiring more intensive services.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in a human services field.
Georgia certification or licensure (MSW, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, School Psychology, School Counselor).
Prior experience and competencies working with school-aged youth and families experiencing mental health concerns; experience in providing interventions, counseling, groups to individuals or groups of school-aged youth and families.
Physical Requirements
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.
