Overall Purpose 

To provide support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific (One to One) responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of special needs students; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring the student behavior during non – classroom time; providing information to appropriate school personnel; and attending IEP meetings.

 

Essential Functions

 

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.

60 Semester hours of college credit from an accredited educational institution or

a passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.

Successful experience in job related area preferred.

 

 

Physical Requirements

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

 

Education/Training

Maintains all licenses and certifications.
